Intuitive No-Code Automation
The synergy of horstOS, Colibri motors, and gantry systems

Automation doesn’t have to be complicated; it must be flexible, cost-effective, and intuitive to control.

We consistently apply what has long been standard in modern robotics—graphical programming, clear logic structures, and simple configuration—to proven gantry systems.

The combination of horstOS from fruitcore robotics GmbH with standard gantry systems and high-performance Colibri motors from Gunda Automation GmbH gives rise to a new generation of industrial automation.

Robot logic, implemented on axis systems.

Automation has never been easier, inspired by the user-friendliness of modern robotics. Instead of complex PLC programming, our approach is to configure rather than program. And instead of lengthy project phases, we follow a clear principle: Plug and Produce instead of a project marathon.

Holistic architecture instead of isolated solutions

The strength of the system lies not in a single feature, but in its consistent overall architecture.

  • horstOS handles process definition, state management, logic linking, and interface management.
  • The Colibri motors deliver dynamic and precise motion execution with reproducible positioning accuracy.
  • The modular gantry systems ensure mechanical stability, scalability, and adaptability to new process requirements.

Powerful hardware and intelligent software integrate seamlessly. The result is not a single machine, but a scalable platform with future-proof capabilities.

Graphical robot programming for the entire gantry system

With horstOS from fruitcore robotics GmbH , the entire gantry system is programmed like a robot. In the graphical user interface, processes are created by adding graphical icons, movements are defined, and logic is flexibly linked together. Step by step, this creates a complete automation sequence that is clearly structured and intuitive to use.

Adjustments can be implemented in just a few minutes, without any in-depth PLC knowledge.

Around 90 percent of all typical automation tasks can be implemented quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively in this way.

Automate independently, produce efficiently

Manufacturing companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, face a key challenge. Due to labor shortages, they are forced to automate but cannot afford large internal automation teams. At the same time, external PLC programmers are costly and create new dependencies that limit flexibility and response speed.

Our approach makes it possible to consciously avoid this dependency. The intuitive, graphical user interface of horstOS eliminates the need for complex PLC programming. Processes are created through intuitive, graphical programming and can be independently adapted and further developed by the company’s own staff—quickly, transparently, and without in-depth specialized knowledge.

This allows companies to remain technologically capable and organizationally independent of external service providers. Engineering costs decrease, projects are implemented faster, and automation becomes predictable, manageable, and sustainably cost-effective—especially for SMEs that want to remain flexible and maintain control over their own production.

The remaining 10 percent: Systematic engineering support

For individual customer requirements that cannot be met with the standard feature set, our application team supports the implementation of customized solutions. We analyze the specific process requirements, evaluate the technical automation logic, and develop custom function blocks as needed.

Complex logic, special functions, or interfaces are implemented, checked, and tested in textual code. We then seamlessly integrate the function block as a validated module into horstOS. The module developed in this way is permanently available as a reusable module in the graphical user interface. In this way, we combine individual flexibility with technical depth, while ensuring high user-friendliness and sustainable expandability.

The customer remains independent in day-to-day operations while benefiting from the security and expertise of our engineering team in the background. Furthermore, the range of functions expands continuously and grows with the application’s requirements.

AI Meets Industrial Precision

To demonstrate the architecture’s capabilities, we have created an interactive application as a proof of concept: a fully automated “Connect Four” game based on an XYZ axis system.

The industrial PC running horstOS is directly connected to ChatGPT via an AI interface. The AI calculates its moves in real time. horstOS manages the 7 × 6 matrix, rule checking, target position calculation, and control of the axis system.

  • The result is a clear separation of external decision-making logic, a structured control level, and deterministic mechanical execution.

The application is not a game, but a demonstrator for scalable system integration.

Three game modes demonstrate different operating states: AI vs. AI, player vs. AI, and player vs. player. The axis system places game pieces in a reproducible manner and automatically clears the playing field.

The trade show campaign generates interaction; technically, it demonstrates how external AI systems can be structurally integrated into industrial control architectures.
